Black Belt Sparring Match
A very reasonable kit of protective sparring gear will generally have four pieces. Head gear to protect the ears and head is a must. Your dentist will appreciate you using the gel mouth piece to preserve your teeth.
Sparring or kicking shoes are available as part of a set. Gloves, for more comfortable punching and to protect your hands are the last standard piece.
There are other pieces to be included in sparring protective gear, besides these basic four. A chest guard or chest protector is a good piece to own.
There are some specially designed fight products for women and for men. Arm guards, shin guards and special instep protectors are sparring equipment that goes beyond the basic four.
Often these have double layers of foam over knuckles and instep, and have Velcro fasteners. Colors are red, yellow, blue, black, white, and yellow. Headgear can be leather, or closed cell foam, with face mask and face cages.
Kicks and punches are foam. Sparring protective equipment is recommended for all contact sports.
